These LED glass panels were such an exciting medium to work with. The technology opened up a set of visual possibilities that felt very specific to the space: smooth, constantly shifting gradients could move across the glass, while a slowly developing halftone pattern added texture and structure over time. The combination created an atmosphere that would have been difficult to achieve with either a traditional display or a static installation. It really depended on the interplay between the technology, the architecture, and the animation.

I especially enjoyed designing for a surface that feels somewhere between a screen and an architectural matarial. The goal was to create motion that felt integrated into the environment and could subtly transform the character of the space throughout the day.

The installation is part of a larger effort to bring digital artwork throughout the building, including digital murals, animated projections, and portal-like displays that offer glimpses into the work happening inside the labs. Together, these pieces use motion and emerging display technologies to make the space feel more dynamic, immersive, and connected to the science and innovation happening there.

RISE - NFL

Client: NFL

Studio: LaunchMedia

Role: Lead Motion Designer

Category: Interactive/Motion Graphics

I was the lead motion designer on a branded interactive experience for RISE, an organization within the National Football League focused on advancing social justice and strengthening communities through sports.

My role centered on designing and building the holographic animation content for an interactive installation featuring NFL Executive Vice President Troy Vincent. Visitors could engage directly with the experience, prompting Vincent to share stories and insights about his leadership journey, career, and work within the NFL.

The project required translating filmed content into a convincing holographic presentation while designing motion and visual elements that supported the interaction without distracting from the human presence at its center. I worked across animation, compositing, visual development, and the technical requirements of the holgram device to create content that felt cohesive within the physical space.

The finished experience was exhibited in Las Vegas during Super Bowl LVIII in 2024, giving attendees an opportunity to engage with Vincent’s story in a more personal, immersive way.

BLACK COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME

Client: BCFHOF

Studio: LaunchMedia

Role: Lead Motion Designer

Category: Interactive/Motion Graphics

I enjoyed the challenge of mixing technology and storytelling on this project. I was given 3D-scanned image sequences and models and tasked with developing a pipeline for integrating them seamlessly with animated backgrounds in After Effects. This involved finding ways to preserve the unique, dimensional quality of the scans while giving me enough flexibility to shape the pacing, composition, and overall visual language of each scene. A particular favorite is the welcome sequence at minute 4:21. I recreated the entrance hall and compositied the 3D hologram in the space.

I also designed and animated many of the 3D overlays and graphic elements you see throughout the piece, using them to help connect the scanned imagery with the surrounding environments. The goal was never for the technology to feel like the focus, but rather to use it in service of the story. The final result supports the narrative while contributing to the project’s sense of wonder, discovery, and immersion.

UNDERWRITERS LAB

Client: Underwriters Lab

Studio: LaunchMedia

Role: Lead Motion Designer

Category: Interactive/Motion Graphics

For another project with Underwriters Laboratories, I worked with the same 3D-scanning workflow, this time using it to bring members of UL’s leadership team into a series of imagined environments. The piece was designed to demonstrate the possibilities of their augmented reality tools, particularly within science and technology.

I developed scenes that combined scanned performances, 3D elements, motion design, and environmental animation to move the speakers beyond a traditional presentation format. The technology gave us a way to place real people inside more conceptual and visually ambitious spaces, helping make complex ideas feel tangible while giving the piece a sense of scale, possibility, and discovery.
